Gayle Mclean

I joined the Trust in 2005 to represent my family. I was elected as the Chairperson in 2012. My goal for the Trust is to find business ventures which will increase income and create on-going financial stability. Previously I was employed as a social worker and counselor. I was in these positions for 25 years, culminating in being the CEO of a private agency.

Edwin Ashford

I joined the trust in 2005. My goal during my time with the trust is to create fair balance for everyone. I have experience with Management, Administration, Financials, and Communication.

Mic O’Dea

I became an associate trustee in 2011 and I was voted on to become a full responsible trustee the following year at our AGM. My mother asked me to consider applying to become a trustee on the Te Kohera Kakaho trust and when I think about who had sat and also who was sitting on the trust and all the history and cultural significance relating to the whenua (Tihoi 6) it became an easy decision for me to make. I want to see Te Kohera Kakaho Trust prosper to become a beacon for our whanau to be proud of just as our old people had that pride in their rohe (our whenua) and the lengths they went to in protecting it for our generation and those to come. We have so many sites of significance not only to us but also the entire Taupo rohe and I love being part of the team that is bringing them back to the forefront of what we do for the beneficiaries of Te Kohera Kakaho. Heoi ano e hoa ma, kua mutu taku korero .  “Ka ora te whenua, Ka ora te whanau “

Sam O’Dea

I joined the Trust as an Associate Trustee in 2019 with the goal of becoming more closely connected to my extended family. I would also like to enable the Trust to move forward with large scale projects and create things which we can all be proud of. I have a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration majoring in Management from Victoria University, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology focussed on Software Engineering from Universal College of Learning (UCOL). I also own and operate a Beauty Salon in Palmerston North.
