This Urupa is the final resting place of a number of hapu members who were associated with Tihoi 6 and Te Kohera whare that sat on that whenua. The Te Kohera Kakaho Trust has worked hard over the years to clean up the unused Urupa and it is nearing the time to begin a beautification process that will see native plants and pathways installed to allow access for whanau and hapu members.

It is envisaged that a planting day/weekend will occur around Easter 2021(possibly more as well) where all whanau, hapu members can help with the process and be part of bringing their whenua to life and making it an attractive place for our Koiwi/Tupuna.
